New Study About Infant Development

Passing along this info to any local families who may be interested in participating:

My name is Dr. Courtney Filippi and I am from the University of Maryland Child Development Lab and National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

Our lab, The Child Development Lab, in College Park, MD, in collaboration with a lab at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD is starting an exciting new study for infants around 3 months of age looking at social development. For this study, we are interested in how behaviors that all babies show early in life help to explain social development. In particular, we know that babies have different temperaments and these temperaments influence how infants interact with other people. The question we’re asking as a part of this research is how temperament influences brain development.

Parents who are interested would provide us with their contact information so that we can provide them with more information about the study. Parents would be compensated for each of the visits that they participate in. We are very flexible with scheduling and have both evening and weekend availability. Please email us at infantstudy@umd.edu or give us a call at 240-630-4675 if interested!
